As the glittering lights of the Croisette prepare to dazzle once again, Chopard steps into the spotlight at the 78th Cannes International Film Festival with a breathtaking new chapter in its iconic Red Carpet Collection. This year, the Maison’s Co-President and Artistic Director, Caroline Scheufele, unveils Caroline’s Universe—a personal, deeply creative voyage into the essence of her inspirations.

Since becoming the official partner of Cannes and artisan of the Palme d’Or in 1998, Chopard has turned the red carpet into a runway of exquisite jewellery. In 2007, to mark the Festival’s 60th anniversary, Scheufele introduced the first Red Carpet Haute Joaillerie collection—an annual showcase where the number of unique pieces matches the number of Cannes editions. "From the outset, I wanted the Red Carpet Collection to have as many pieces of jewellery as the number of years the Festival has been in existence,” says Scheufele. “This collection is designed for actresses to sparkle as they climb the famous steps, thereby honouring Chopard's reputation as the red carpet jeweller."

A Multifaceted Vision
In 2025, the theme shifts inward. After previous years focused on ‘Cinema’, ‘Arts’, and ‘Fairy Tales’, this edition explores Caroline’s Universe—a poetic reflection of the personal world of its visionary creator. The result is a vibrant tapestry of haute joaillerie inspired by the natural world, haute couture, celestial motifs, and the most timeless of symbols: the heart.
“Each piece of jewellery is a stage; each precious stone tells a story in which the art of jewellery reflects both my personal journey and universal emotion,” explains Scheufele. Her words are embodied in 78 new masterpieces—necklaces, earrings, rings, bracelets, and jewellery watches—all meticulously crafted in Chopard's renowned Haute Joaillerie atelier in Geneva. There, over 40 skilled artisans—model-makers, gemsetters, jewellers, polishers—work in harmony to bring these visions to life.
An Opening Marvel
To tease the grandeur of the collection, Scheufele has unveiled its first masterpiece: a show-stopping choker made from ethical white gold, set with a jaw-dropping 129-carat Colombian emerald cabochon. Framed by 28.85 carats of pear-shaped diamonds and 21.56 carats of brilliant-cut diamonds, this necklace is the result of 450 hours of artisan collaboration. It’s a true testament to Chopard’s devotion to craftsmanship and is destined to become a scene-stealer on the Cannes red carpet.

The Heart of a Pioneer
Scheufele’s pioneering spirit isn’t limited to design. In 2013, she ushered in a new era with the introduction of ethical gold into Chopard’s creations—launching the brand’s 'Journey to Sustainable Luxury’. A decade later, she expanded her creative horizon once more with the debut of Caroline’s Couture, a fashion line designed to complement her jewellery masterpieces. These dual expressions—Couture and Haute Joaillerie—form a seamless dialogue of elegance, each amplifying the other under her imaginative leadership.
As Cannes rolls out its red carpet once more, Chopard's Caroline’s Universe promises to enchant the world with its spellbinding beauty—one jewel, one story, one radiant step at a time.
