A distinguished delegation from the United Arab Emirates, consisting of food distributors, importers, influencers, and journalists, embarked on a journey to Rzeszów and its picturesque surroundings in southeastern Poland from December 11 to 15, 2024. This visit was an integral part of the "EU Organic Food - Good Choice" campaign, a European Union co-funded initiative promoting the excellence of organic food products.

A Taste of Polish Organic Excellence

During their stay, the UAE delegation had the opportunity to explore a diverse range of local organic producers specializing in honey, meat, apples, mushrooms, and forest fruits. They gained firsthand insights into the rigorous EU certification processes and the high standards maintained in organic farming across Europe. In addition to these educational experiences, the visitors indulged in traditional Polish cuisine, specially prepared for the festive Christmas season, enhancing their immersion in the country’s rich culinary and cultural heritage.

EKOGALA: A Hub of Organic Innovation

A key highlight of the visit was the prestigious EKOGALA International Fair for Organic and High-Quality Food, held on December 14 in Jasionka, near Rzeszów. The delegation received a warm welcome from the Marshal of the Podkarpackie Voivodeship, Władysław Ortyl, who introduced them to the economic potential and tourist attractions of the region.

At the fair, the delegation attended the highly informative seminar "EU Organic Food - Good Choice," where industry experts, including Wawrzyniec Maziejuk, Vice-President of the "Polska Ekologia" Association, and Prof. Bartosz Sołowiej from the University of Life Sciences in Lublin, shared their insights on the future of organic farming, the importance of EU quality systems, and the role of digitalization in food production

An Influencer’s Perspective

Deepti Chandak, a renowned UAE influencer and participant in the delegation, reflected on the experience: “I was deeply impressed by the quality of European organic products and the warm hospitality we experienced in Poland. The festive atmosphere, traditional dishes, and the valuable knowledge shared by producers made this an unforgettable experience.”

Strengthening Global Connections

The visit concluded with a series of B2B meetings between UAE delegates and European organic food producers. These interactions laid the groundwork for promising business partnerships and future collaborations, reinforcing the global appeal of European organic products in the UAE market.
